Presentation: “A Tale of Two Models: From ER/UML to Semantics.” Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Unicorn Solutions, and Xtensible Solutions discussed how TVA is semantically integrating the utility industry standard Common Information Model (CIM, expressed as a UML class model in Rational Rose) with TVA’s Enterprise Data Architecture (created in standard Entity-Relationship (ER) format via Erwin). As project level metadata assets are mapped to the resulting enterprise semantic model, business rules are used to express accurate information in a common format.
