Overview
Industry standards play a very important role in enabling open and interoperable solution for utilities business IT programs such as AMI and Smart Grid. Solutions built with interoperability in mind with open standards reduce the risk and cost of implementation and ownership. To that end, Xtensible Solutions is a firm believer and strong proponent of developing and promoting industry standards as part of technology solutions for utilities.
For many years, Xtensible Solutions has provided leadership and strong support for the IEC TC57 WG13 (61970) and WG14 (61968) development and implementation, and Xtensible brings that knowledge and experience into the enterprise integration and information management solution and services that we offer to the utility market. Xtensible Solutions has also participated in other standards organizations, such as MultiSpeak and OAGi.
In order to ensure that standards are not developed in vacuum and meet the real world requirements, Xtensible Solutions works extensively with user-driven organizations such as CIMug, Open Smart Grid (OpenSG) AMI-ENT, and ZigBee and HomePlug alliance to further the adoption of such standards.
